… and landed

Made the connection safely and I’m updating from Paul’s house in Cordoeira.

It’s 3:48 am on January 20, Rio time (which is somewhere between New York and London time).

I woke up at 4am on January 19, NZDT. I’ve been in transit since then. I think that makes 39 hours with vague sleep on planes. There is a bed somewhere in my immediate future.

The sensible part of my brain is still sitting somewhere on the side going ‘dude, I’ll just be over here for a while, like a month or so. I don’t even, like, know you anymore.’

The song for the day, courtesy of LAN Chile’s inflight entertainment system, is Ordinary Miracle by Sarah McLachlan.

  1. Charlotte Says:

Glad you are there! Auckland International Airport was evacuated after you left. Someone had cried “smoke”. But there was nothing……….”Oh, Charlotte,” he said. “To think that when I first met you I thought you were cruel and hostile.” (E.B.White with small variation)
